Alba Vidal García

I was born and raised in Leioa (Bizkaia), Spain. I graduated in physics at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU). The last year of my undergraduated studies I moved to the Universidad Complutense de Madrid to carry on specific studies on Astrophysics with a SICUE/Séneca grant. I was awarded with the "La Caixa" grant to pursue my Master studies in the interuniversitary master of the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. Then I moved to Paris where I did my PhD on "Modeling and interpretation of the ultraviolet spectral energy distributions of primeval galaxies" at the Institut d'Astrophysique de Paris (IAP). I am currently working as a postdoc at the Ecole Normale Supérieure within the MIST group.

Main interests (not up-to-date)

Signatures of massive stars

in the ultraviolet spectra of star-forming galaxies, and the dependence of these features on physical parameters.

Modelling of galaxy spectral energy distributions

including the transfer of starlight through the different components of the ISM.

Defining stellar and interstellar diagnostics

in the ultraviolet spectra of star-forming galaxies.

Interpreting observations of high-redshift galaxies and local analogs

unig an efficient statistical approach.

I recommend that while this page is being modified you look at the complete up-to-date list of my publications that can be found in the SAO/ADS abstract service.
