Galaxies-Supernovae Correlation

The upcoming large scale structure surveys are going to measure very large number of supernovae over a wide range of redshifts. However these surveys cannot measure the spectroscopic redshift of these supernovae and hence rely on the photometric redshift measurements to measure the cosmological parameters. Me and B. Wandelt have proposed a new method beyond the standard luminosity distance-redshift test by cross-correlating the redshift known galaxies with supernovae. This method can improve the measurement of the dark energy parameters better than the case with only the classical luminosity distance-redshift test. You can find more detials in the arXiv link to the paper.

The improvement in the dark energy parameters from the galaxy-supernovae cross-correlation method is compared with the other standard luminosity-distance redshift test for photometric and spectroscopic redshift measurement case.
