POSTDOCTORAL POSITIONS ON COSMOLOGY AND ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
The IAP is seeking applications for up to three 2+1 year
post-doctoral positions as a major node of the newly funded Simons
Collaboration on "Learning the Universe". The successful candidates will
work with the PIs and colleagues to develop and implement cosmological
applications of Machine Learning, with a dual focus on cosmological
parameter inference and the reconstruction of the initial conditions of
our universe from current and upcoming cosmological surveys.
As members of the Simons Collaboration (http://www.learning-the-universe.org/)
successful candidates will have ample opportunities of exchange with
researchers from other participating nodes (Columbia University,
Lawrence Berkeley National Lab, Harvard University, Flatiron Institute,
Stockholm University, UniversitÃ© de Montreal, Princeton University,
Carnegie Mellon University, MPA Garching). Teams dedicated to different
aspects of the challenge are currently being set up, offering a
multidisciplinary environment for the successful candidates.
Applicants should have obtained a PhD in physics, astronomy or
related subject by the time of the appointment. The appointment is for
2+1 years with salary depending on experience and performance.
Appointments could start as early as spring 2022, but later start dates
